Hello, there!
I am a PhD student in Computer Science, jointly supervised by Prof. Luís Paulo Reis from the University of Porto and Prof. Herke van Hoof from the University of Amsterdam.
I am interested in bridging the gap between AI planning and reinforcement learning. My research interests include reinforcement learning, planning, representation learning, and neuro-symbolic AI, with a focus on building generalizable, explainable, and trustworthy agents that can operate in both simulated and physical environments. My long-term goal is to develop generally capable AI agents that can reason, learn, and adapt across tasks and environments.
I have been a member of the FCPortugal robotics team since 2022, the four-time world champion in the RoboCup 3D Simulation League. From 2023 to 2024, I served on the RoboCup 3D Simulation League Technical Committee. Since 2023, I have also been an Invited Teaching Assistant at the University of Porto.
I hold a BSc and MSc in Computer Science from the University of Porto, graduating top of my class in both degrees. See my CV for more information.
